Angeline Speaks at the United Nations

By
 Sonja Grover, Ph.D.

Book 1: Children's Human Rights and Peace Series

(The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child)

What’s It All About

This is the story of a United Nations speech,

By a child who the lectern could barely reach,

Respect for children’s dignity was her theme,

That little brave girl named Angeline,

Her speech led the audience eventually to shout,

No longer will any nation children’s rights flout.

….And its about Article 3 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child which says: “In all actions concerning children….the best interests of the child shall be a primary consideration” (which means that adults should look out for children’s good)
